Lujanes Tower House

Located at Plaza de la Villa Square you will find the Lujanes Tower House, allegedly the oldest civil registered building in Madrid.  There are stories that the Tower is actually older than what is registered in the official town books.  However, the authorized version is that the palace was originally built in the early 15th century.

The Tower and the house were constructed with the influence of the Mudejar style of the time.  I personally like the combinations of the materials used for the construction: bricks, masonry and large rocks.  At this time, as I’m writing this post, only the outside of the monument is allowed for visiting.
